This quickly led to an increase in tourism, with travel agencies noticing a sharp rise in applications. In November 2024, the visa-free stay was extended to 30 days, offering more flexibility for both business trips and holidays.
The policy has also contributed to strengthening cultural and business exchanges. It has become easier for Dutch professionals to visit China, enabling them to engage more closely with Chinese culture and business.
All in all, the visa-free policy is more than just a convenience for travellers; it opens the door to closer ties between China and the Netherlands in the areas of tourism, business and technology.
