From November 5 to 10, 2022, the largest exhibition for the export of international products to China, the China International Import Expo (CIIE), will be held in Shanghai. The CIIE is a trade fair that has been held annually in Shanghai since 2018 and is the largest import fair worldwide, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Municipality of Shanghai.
The import expo aims to promote the Chinese market to international companies and to stimulate domestic consumption in China.
Even in the current period, in which the Zero-covid policy and the tense geopolitical relations are having an impact on the global economy and not least on that of China, trade relations are still going on and China attaches great importance to the CIIE. More than 150,000 Chinese buyers and 29,000 foreign exhibitors from more than 100 countries are expected to participate this year. One of the focus sectors this year is agriculture and horticulture: food and fresh production, breeding and cultivation technology and innovative research, agricultural machinery, etcetera.
Dutch Sino Business Promotions (DSBP) has been designated by the CIIE as an official partner for the CIIE in the Netherlands and, supported by the Dutch Consulate in Shanghai, is organizing a Dutch participation and pavilion at the CIIE.
The theme for this pavilion is Farm to Fork, the agricultural strategy at the heart of the European Green Deal, aimed at creating healthy, fair and sustainable food and fresh food chains.
In addition to physical representation at the fair, various activities will be organized, such as (hybrid) side events, matchmaking events and product releases.
